Bar-Ilan University has some exciting online events and webinars happening this month. There will be a variety of open days hosted by the International School and the various country representatives, including our first-ever Escape Zoom.
Bar-Ilan University to Host Preeminent Scholar in Jewish Thought
Bar-Ilan University’s Department of Jewish Thought will host the preeminent scholar of Jewish mysticism and Jewish thought today, Professor Elliot R. Wolfson from the University of California, Santa Barbara, for an intensive four-week course.
The course, titled “Jouissance and the Suffering of God: Evil and Theopoetic Desire in Lurianic Kabbalah and Its Impact on Böhme, Schelling, Rosenzweig, and Heidegger”, will take place on Mondays from February 8 – March 8, 2021, between 16:30 and 20:00 (Israel time – GMT+2).

Info Session: Exciting Summer Programs Offered
Bar-Ilan University offers international students the opportunity to experience Israel and university life through a diverse range of stimulating, thought-provoking summer programs.
Students receive course credits from a top, world-ranked, accredited university, and benefit from all student and social activities on campus as well as weekly tours throughout the country.
In addition, all programs combine theoretical with practical learning. Students receive an extremely hands-on, practical experience through workshops, simulations, laboratory work, visits to top high-tech Israeli companies and startups, and even the opportunity to join a dig at an excavation site.
This month, BIU’s International School will host an information session on the programs we’ll be offering this summer – some of which will be taught in-person, regulations permitting, and some online.

Get Ahead of the Game of Politics, Government, and Communications
Bar-Ilan University’s School of Communications and Department of Political Science give students the opportunity to earn a multi-disciplinary undergraduate degree from two top university departments.
The Communications and Political Science double major BA degree provides a broad survey of the many fields and elements in the world of media and political communications. The integration of the two gives students the proper tools to analyze government and media and succeed in their chosen careers.
BIU’s International School will host an online open day in Spanish and English for students interested in this dynamic degree. The event will take place on February 28, 2021, at 19:00 (Israel time – GMT +2).
