Study & Research in Italy – A Unique Opportunity for Bar-Ilan University Students
Bar-Ilan University is excited to offer students the chance to participate in the PNRR-TNE International Mobility Programme – IMP-ACCTS. This prestigious initiative provides funding for study, internships, and research opportunities at top universities across Italy. Whether you are pursuing coursework, conducting research for your thesis, or seeking international academic experience, this program offers a unique opportunity to engage with leading scholars while immersing yourself in Italy’s rich academic and cultural landscape.
Who Can Apply?
The program is open to students enrolled in all degree programs at Bar-Ilan University. Priority is given to MA and PhD students, especially those conducting research. Candidates must meet the academic and language requirements of their chosen host university.
Duration and Activities
- Minimum stay: 2 months (60 days)
- Maximum stay: 6 months
- Activities can include:
- Attending courses and workshops
- Taking exams
- Conducting research for thesis preparation
- Internships
- All activities must end until March 2026

- Apply online through the Bar-Ilan internal application form.
- Required documents:
- Approval of Academic Studies: You may find your approval in the Inbar, as following: Documents and approvals > Documents > Approval of academic studies
- Academic transcript: To request your transcript, enter the Inbar page in ENGLISH and select: Requests and Authorizations > Submit a request> Subject > Study approvals and transcripts
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Motivation letter: In your Motivation Letter, please reference at least one of the two project themes: Security or Constitutional Crisis.
- Diploma for previous degree: for MA and PhD students
- Photo of passport

Second deadline: June 15, 2025
Financial Support
The program provides:
- Individual financial support – 850 euro per month
- Travel allowances – 410 euro for round trip
- Merit-based grants for students earning at least 8 credits abroad/PhD students publishing an essay – 400 euro
The financial support is on a first come first serve basis so don’t wait and apply early!
Recognition of Studies and Research
Academic activities completed at the host university will be recognized by Bar-Ilan University upon submission of the required documents and by the home departments’ approval.

I’m a master/doctorate student conducting research and I want to go on this amazing program, what do I do now?
- Talk to your thesis advisor at Bar-Ilan and get his initial approval.
- Explore the Italian partners faculty lists and find your potential academic supervisor that will be your academic host during your stay.
- Address relevant faculty members, tell them about yourself and your research and ask them if they can be your supervisor, for how long (2 to 6 months) and when.
Whenever you address an Italian faculty member to be a supervisor write in the topic “PNRR” and then the rest of the topic. Also remember to copy the Italian project managers at [email protected]. - After you found an academic supervisor make sure to send us at [email protected] the projects application form and all the documents mentioned in the application process.
I’m a bachelor student and I want to study a semester in Italy, what do I do?
